Moderate, Schmahdorate!

Gregory of Yardale over at Teh Resistance Blog discusses some pertinent, relevant, and profound points on Specter and the Myth of the Moderate.  He describes the post (as you should read for yourself) as "an amalgam of comments [GC: in the context of Arlen Specter] ... posted on other blogs."  One particular paragraph really resonated with me because of just how precisely he nails it (my emphasis added):

"FWIW, I think moderates are gutless people, and they will bend in whatever direction they think will be the least controversial. Since the MSM define what is controversial and what isn't, moderates will always bend in their direction, which means they will only bend to the left. Which is also why the left never is asked to compromise on anything. On abortion, the left's stand is unyielding... anytime, anywhere, for any reason, without parental consent, at any stage in pregnancy, paid for by taxpayers. Even though this position is embraced by, at most, 20% of Americans... it is the only allowable stance on the issue."

Finally, to drive the point home, which is something that the current Republican party clearly doesn't understand, Gregory states that "Principled conservative opposition is the only alternative to big government with an interventionist social agenda. There is no moderate alternative."

I couldn't agree more!

We're Doomed -- Again!

Michael Graham wrote an interesting article with the same exact title articulating (far better than I ever could) the doom and gloom mentality of liberals.  In his article, he links to another superlative piece of writing aptly entitled, "The End of the World as We Know It" by Mark Steyn of the National Review.  Please take the time to read both articles.  As you're reading them, remember the liberal mantra, "Never let a good crisis go to waste."
It must be pretty obvious that the installation of Barack Hussein Obama as POTUS is a huge mistake.  So much so that Great Britain even notices that the ghetto filth thug hates America!

Cry Me a River, Boston Globe!

Parting is such sweet sorrow -- unless it's saying good riddance to a filthy, loony, left-wing, liberal rag of a "newspaper" like the Boston Globe.  Hearing that the "journalists" and "executives" of the failing lapdog of the democrat party threw a pity party in their own honor is exactly what I call entertainment -- schadenfreude at its absolute best!  The "reporters" and "newspaper" staff are so disingenuous that they attribute the idea for the rally to the "union."  That, my dear reader, is all you need to know about the newpaper formerly known as the Boston Globe.

Disgustingly, but not surprisingly, the socialist liberal democrats are demanding a bailout for such an "iconic" institution of Boston, a "business" that's "too big to fail."

Please take the time to read Howie Carr's terrific article in the Boston Herald (the only real newspaper in this fair city).  In typical fashion, his analysis and insight are perfect.

Ronald Wilson Reagan, My Hero

reagan-small.jpg
Ronald Wilson Reagan (February 6, 1911 - June 5, 2004), the fortieth president of the United States of America.  A great man, a great president, a great American -- my hero.

I'm (Finally) Embracing Java

For years I've resisted it, bashed it, bemoaned its existence, and asserted that it just wasn't ready for primetime.  I've been unable to understand all the hype and thought it would go the way of Lotus 1-2-3, Turbo Pascal, and WordStar.

So, of course, it's only natural that I teach myself how to program in Java and gain some proficiency in it.

I'll keep you (all one of my readers) posted...

Worst. President. Ever.

Remember how bad it was during the years of the Carter administration?  Remember the gas lines?  Remember the double-digit inflation (in 1980 it was 13.58%)?  Remember the outrageous interest rates (on April 2, 1980, the prime lending rate was 20%)?  Remember how the enemies of our nation ran roughshod over a weak and spineless pacifist peanut farmer from Georgia?  I didn't think we, collectively, as a nation could ever outdo ourselves.

I was wrong!

The domestic enemy of the Constitution of The United States of America that has been installed in the White House is orders of magnitude worse than the dim-witted Carter could ever be.  The ghetto filth thug and his termagant wife soil the office of the POTUS.

You'd better wake-up America!  If ever there were a slippery slope, you're on it!
The lovely and talented Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs Blog posted "Something of Historic Proportion is Happening" in late-2008 that articulates how I feel about the state of our country better than I ever could.  Please take the time to read it carefully and consider how much of a threat Barack Hussein Obama and those of his ilk are to our culture and society.

As the author (surprisingly not Pam in this case) so confidently and eloquently closes, "Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am."

Thanks Mark M.!
I've felt for a long time that most cable channels that fashion themselves as informational or documentary contain within nothing more than rabid, loony liberals working hard at pushing their warped, twisted agenda on a mostly unsuspecting viewership.  This point was exemplified as I, confined to a hotel bed due to what may have been altitude sickness, watched a series entitled, "The Presidents."  The series is broken down into five or six presidents per episode beginning with, unsurprisingly, George Washington.  The first few were compelling and mostly described the extraordinary men positively, but I also noticed a subtle attempt to vilify them on a personal level.  As the series progressed, I noticed that the liberal presidents were presented in a much more favorable manner than their conservative counterparts.  It is here that they lose me and I am forced to stop watching at Theodore Roosevelt.  I wish I had the foresight to take notes on all the occurrences of the liberal bias, but I wasn't feeling well enough to sit up, much less stay focused on the producer's misguided (i.e. wrong) views.

The History Channel also published a two-part series called "Founding Fathers" that I felt similarly about.  The producers had more time to "dig up" more "dirt" on these magnificent, prescient men.  I watched both episodes in their entirety, but I was angry at the end because of the liberal bias.

I have to admit that their deception is mostly subtle, and they do a superb job of trying to legitimize their agenda by interviewing "academics" who are more than willing to try to lend credibility to something like this.  Anybody who has been paying the slightest bit of attention of the past several years knows that academia is infested with lunatic moonbats.
